view video Our Video Game Animation program focuses on the artistic side of video game production. Students study the formulation of the visual and interactive content, goals and gameplay of video games. The course work for this concentration emphasizes the visual and design components while learning the software necessary to produce animation for video games. Students learn the skills to create 3D animation as it applies to video games while constructing practical projects which are commonly produced in professional gaming companies. Students complete their creative work using 3D Studio Max, Mudbox, Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator. They also learn the fundamentals of interactive integration and the cooperation of technical disciplines such as software engineering and programming by completing a series of courses in our Computer Science Department. The program culminates in a senior project where the students design and create a game prototype that displays all of the techniques and aesthetics learned in their previous classes. Our students have the opportunity to gain real world experience by completing industry internships for a variety of clients. A number of our students have gone on to employment in these companies after graduation. Our faculty are working professionals in animation, gaming, web design, interactive multimedia and graphic design, bringing a wealth of real world experience and knowledge to share with our students. |
